About this video: a 40x80 Toro steel building on Bells Farming
This Bells Farming steel building video follows Molly as her new 40x80 Toro steel building goes from the delivery truck to a standing frame. The 4-minute compilation pulls her three-part series into one full steel building assembly video, so you can watch a farm steel building come together from the ground up.
It's Molly's second building from the Toro family. She built a Quonset from our sister company, Future Buildings, the winter before, and says that project went well enough that she came back for this one. Shane and Pat get the build started early in the video.
- Delivery day. The 40x80 kit arrives and Molly works out the best way to get it off the truck. Unloading is the owner's job, so it pays to plan equipment and help in advance.
- A small crew moves fast. By 7:30 on a build morning, several frames are already up. As Molly puts it, "I think less people is better."
- Day-by-day progress. Updates from day two onward show the frame filling in, ending with a walkthrough of the near-finished structure.

Delivery day
Hey guys, welcome back. I'm Molly from Bell Farms. Okay, I'm going to talk a little bit about that building that you heard me mention in that past video. All right, behind me is our new building.
Just getting delivered today. We've got to get everything unloaded. Just trying to evaluate what's going to be the best mode of action to take it off the truck here.
So, this is going to be 40 by 80. So, it's a pretty big building for us. This building is made by Toro Steel and it is similar to the company Future Buildings. I believe they're working together. They're kind of the same company of the Quonset that we built over last winter. That project went really well. So, we decided to go with another building from them.
The build begins
All right, welcome back everybody. I'm Molly from Bell Farms. So, things are happening. Shane and Pat are down here early in the morning and they've got the building started.
Build update
A little while since I gave you guys a building update. A lot's been going on, but I've been focusing on irrigation and doing stuff like that. So, what I'm going to do in today's video is I'm going to show you what has been happening from day two of the build to today.
Okay, so this one done already. Almost done with this one. And this is what we had done yesterday. And it's only 7:30. So making good progress today. I think less people is better.
Next-day walkthrough and wrap-up
All right, we're back in the next day. So, we're over here at the building to start out. I've been doing lots of stuff this morning, but none of it is actually farm work. I want to show you guys where we're at with this building.
And now this is going to be awesome. Really is. So, I hope you have enjoyed this building update. This is going to be it for a little while. Then I'm probably going to wait until we have a lot more done to show you guys and we'll pick back up with farming stuff. And I will see you guys later. Thank you guys for watching.
Where this video fits in a Toro build
Molly's video covers the last two stages: delivery and assembly. Here's the full path. Toro handles the first four stages, and Toro doesn't install buildings.

- 2
Engineer
ToroEngineered for your site's snow, wind and seismic loads, with engineer-stamped drawings.
- 3

Questions about Molly's build
Planning something similar? Price your building and a building specialist will walk you through it.
What size is the building in the video?
It's a 40x80 Toro steel building, or 3,200 square feet, on Molly's farm. She calls it "a pretty big building for us." Toro buildings are made to order, so you can choose a different size, height and layout for your own site.
Who put the building up?
Molly's own crew, including Shane and Pat, who you see starting the build. Toro designs, engineers, manufactures and delivers the building, and every kit is engineered for bolt-together assembly. Toro doesn't install buildings.
Is Toro Steel Buildings related to Future Buildings?
Yes. Future Buildings is Toro's sister company and makes Toro's arch and Quonset models. Molly built a Quonset from Future Buildings the winter before this project, then chose Toro for her 40x80.
Can I assemble a steel building myself?
Often, yes. Kits arrive with parts cut, drilled and labeled, plus installation instructions. Many owners put up smaller buildings themselves, and most customers hire a local contractor for larger ones.
What should I plan for on delivery day?
You're responsible for unloading, so line up the equipment and people you'll need before the truck arrives, as Molly does at the start of the video. Delivery usually takes 2 to 8 weeks from order, and your building specialist will confirm timing.
Does Toro supply the foundation?
No. Toro provides the structural reactions for every building so a local contractor can build the foundation to spec. You'll also get engineer-stamped drawings for your location to use for your building permit.
How much does a farm steel building cost?
Toro steel building kits start at $19 USD per sq ft in the U.S. and $26 CAD per sq ft in Canada. Size, your site's snow and wind loads, and local codes all affect the final price, so reach out for pricing on your specific building.
