Steel grow houses & greenhouse buildings
Steel Grow Houses & Greenhouses
Toro steel buildings give growers a sealed, clear-span space for indoor crops, with room for lighting, irrigation, HVAC and separate grow rooms. Every building is engineered for the snow, wind and seismic loads at your site and ships as a pre-cut, pre-drilled kit.
How much does a steel grow house cost?
Toro steel grow houses start at $19 per sq ft (USD) or $26 per sq ft (CAD) for the building kit, and every building is quoted to make sure it meets the loads and codes for your location and use. Price depends on size, wall height, insulation, doors, vents and skylights, and on any collateral load from lights, HVAC or irrigation hung from the roof. Delivery usually takes 2–8 weeks (confirm with a building specialist).

Built for how you work
Why choose a steel building for a grow house or greenhouse?
Steel gives growers a sealed, pest-resistant building that holds a stable climate year-round. The clear-span interior leaves room to run lighting, irrigation and HVAC without posts in the way, and to divide the space into separate grow rooms as you scale.
Weather-controlled growing in a straight-wall steel building
Toro's high-quality, straight-wall steel buildings work well as indoor greenhouse growing structures, providing a weather-controlled atmosphere to grow and cultivate your crops. The clear-span interior provides adequate space for ventilation, lighting, irrigation, and humidity monitoring systems.
BUILDING ENVELOPE
SEALED
A sealed building envelope supports insulation, ventilation, humidity control, and HVAC installations for stable grow conditions.
INTERIOR LAYOUT
MULTI-ROOM
Clear-span interiors allow partitions for multiple grow rooms, each with its own temperature, humidity, and lighting conditions.

Insulation, vents & skylights
How do you insulate and ventilate a steel grow house?
Insulation is essential for grow houses, particularly in areas with warm temperatures and high humidity — it keeps the growing environment airtight and free of condensation, with a vapor barrier reducing moisture buildup inside the structure. In colder climates, it protects against condensation caused by frost, ice, and temperature swings.
Vents regulate odor, humidity, and temperature, reducing heat buildup and keeping out insects and birds. Skylights bring in the natural light greenhouse plants need, engineered to resist high winds, flying debris, and hail.
Built to manage growth
Versatile buildings to manage your business growth
Steel buildings make micromanagement much easier. Every crop needs different atmospheric conditions — growers with multiple crops often need varying humidity levels, temperatures, and growth stages co-existing in the same facility.
Commercial growing also means equipment mounted from or on the ceiling — HVAC, lighting, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, watering systems, blowers, and condensing units — all adding collateral load. The durability, affordability, and performance of steel make it ideal for the job. Tell your building specialist what you plan to hang from the roof so the frame is engineered for that collateral load.
