About this video: a 40x80 farm steel building assembly with Bells Farming

In this 4:37 video, Molly of Bells Farming follows the full assembly of their new 40x80 Toro farm steel building, from delivery day to the walls going up. It's their second building from the Toro family, after a Quonset they built the winter before, and she shows the crew's progress day by day.

Bells Farming's new building is a Toro agricultural steel building. Their first building was a Quonset from Future Buildings, Toro's sister company. Learn the difference in arch-style vs straight-wall buildings. Toro doesn't install buildings: Bells Farming's own crew put this one up.

  • Delivery day. The building arrives on a flatbed, and Molly works out the best way to unload it.
  • A 40x80 farm building. Their second building from the Toro family, after a Quonset built the winter before.
  • Day-by-day progress. Shane and Pat start the build early, and the crew makes fast progress.

Delivery day

0:12 Hey guys, welcome back. I'm Molly from Bells Farming. I'm going to talk a little bit about that building that you heard me mention in the past video. Behind me is our new building, just getting delivered today. We've got to get everything unloaded. Just trying to evaluate what's going to be the best mode of action to take it off the truck here.

A 40x80 Toro building

0:31 So this is going to be 40 by 80, so it's a pretty big building for us. This building is made by Toro Steel, and it's similar to the company Future Buildings. I believe they're working together, kind of the same company as the Quonset that we built over last winter. That project went really well, so we decided to go with another building from them.

The build begins

1:05 All right, welcome back, everybody. So things are happening. Shane and Pat are down here early in the morning, and they've got the building started.

Progress from day two

1:46 It's been a little while since I gave you guys a building update. A lot's been going on, but I've been focusing on irrigation and stuff like that. So what I'm going to do in today's video is show you what has been happening from day two of the build to today.

2:09 Okay, so this one's done already. Almost done with this one. And this is what we had done yesterday, and it's only 7:30. So we're making good progress today. I think fewer people is better.

Back the next day

3:32 All right, we're back the next day. We're over here at the building to start out. I want to show you guys where we're at with this building.

Almost there

4:09 And now this is going to be awesome. It really is. I hope you have enjoyed this building update. This is going to be it for a little while, and then we'll pick back up with farming stuff. Thank you guys for watching.

Questions about farm steel buildings

Still unsure? Price your building and a building specialist will walk you through it.

How big is the Bells Farming building?

It's a 40x80 Toro steel building, or 3,200 sq ft. Molly calls it a pretty big building for their farm.

Can I put up a farm steel building with my own crew?

Yes. Bells Farming's own crew put this building up. Toro doesn't install buildings: every kit is engineered for bolt-together assembly by the customer or a local contractor.

Who unloads the building when it arrives?

You do. As Molly shows on delivery day, the customer always handles unloading, so plan the equipment and help you'll need before the truck arrives.

Are Toro and Future Buildings the same company?

They're sister companies under the same umbrella, with the same team and in-house engineers. Arch (Quonset) buildings are made by Future Buildings and sold through Toro, and straight-wall buildings are made by Toro.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery usually takes 2 to 8 weeks. Your building specialist will confirm the timing for your order, and you'll need to arrange unloading when the kit arrives.

How much does a farm steel building cost?

Toro steel building kits start at $19 USD per sq ft in the U.S. and $26 CAD per sq ft in Canada. Your site's loads and codes, along with size, framing system, openings and options, have a big impact on the final price, so reach out for pricing on your specific building.
